Education Counts

Creating a comprehensive, integrated campaign to pass an unprecedented education bond.

Issue

A nonprofit group approached Ethos to create and execute an integrated marketing campaign to stimulate conversation about the importance of education and increase voter support for a ballot measure to approve a $180 million bond for public schools. Because of the area’s historical voting patterns, early research indicated support might be low.

Solution

Ethos built a total grassroots campaign around the messaging of Vote 3 for Education, as there were three parts of the bond for voters to pass. Ethos created, managed, and executed everything from traditional and digital media campaigns, thought-leadership campaigns, content and social media marketing, to PR, direct mail, and more.

Outcome

Overwhelmingly, the county made the decision to improve their support of local education. Alamance County voted to invest $150 million in public schools and $39.6 million in community colleges. Vote 3 for Education also won the Alamance Chamber of Commerce award for Community Initiative of the Year.
