JDRF 5K

Ethos members participated in a 5K run and one-mile walk May 8, 2016, in Pleasant Garden, North Carolina, to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The net proceeds from the event will be dedicated to resources to help individuals and families manager this lifelong disease, including therapies, support groups and, ultimately, a cure for type 1 diabetes.

The Freedom Bikers led runners at the start of the race, which continued over rolling hills. At the finish line, there was a family fun zone for kids, as well as entertainment including dance teams, cheerleading and more.

Erica Katz, art director, won first place in her age group, while Flerida Vanderslice, art director, and Ginny Gaylor, managing editor, came in second and third respectively in their age group. Also participating were Matt Mullen, creative partner, and Sophia Vanderslice and Jack Mullen.
